Shannon Storey chairs the Accreditation Committee of the Saskatchewan Council for the Education of Non-English Speakers (SCENES) and is a member of TESL Canada's Standards Committee. Her B.A., B.Ed. and MCEd. were earned at the U of S, and her PGD in TESL at McGill. She has taught ESL/EFL and TESL/TEFL professionally in Canada and Japan and as a volunteer in Thailand.
An eclectic background is invaluable in ESL. Shannon has flipped burgers, served legal papers, cleaned houses, typed, farmed, and worked as an organizer, educator, writer, and researcher on legal rights, racism, gender, and the international food trade. She has also served the National Farmers Union as district director, International Program Committee chair, and Women's President. The range of her academic and professional experience has led to a current three-year federal appointment to the External Review Committee of Status of Women Canada's Policy Research Fund.
Shannon has presented at conferences, workshops and seminars in Canada, Japan, China, Mexico, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
